Watching him perform in his bands Weedeater (NOLA) and ‘Phantom Power’ late last century, I resonated and learned from his methodical ways of tensioning dark, abrasive modes with more joyful, energetic ones. In these performances I saw a ‘complete resolution’ to an insanely creative vision. I hold his pointed and dynamic song structures as formative. Jason has an inherently graceful disposition with ‘heavier guitar forms’ that blew my hesitant mind open to wider areas of this expression…
